Michael Parkes Surveyors Ltd have helped Dovetail Ltd, a joint venture between the BBC and Dennis Publishing Ltd to find new premises in Sittingbourne. Before the creation of the two companies, BBC magazine subscriptions, storage and distribution were operated by Galleon Ltd in the Kent Science Park. While the office element of the business has remained at KSP the warehouse function has moved off site to a new facility on Phase V of the Eurolink industrial area.

The warehouse is a high-spec building with a specially modified concrete slab to withstand above average floor loading. Historic copies of famous magazines such as 1st edition Top Gear, Gardners World, Maxim and copies of Private Eye are held in a special temperature controlled environment.

Michael Parkes Surveyors Ltd (MPSL) helped Dovetail identify suitable locations in North Kent.

Because no existing buildings could be found with the right credentials due to the unique floor and point loading requirements MPSL found a development plot and helped select a development partner to build a warehouse to the requirements of Dovetail.

The deal has helped secure more jobs for Sittingbourne and represents the first building in what is the new Phase V of Eurolink.
