Property Redress Scheme

All property agents must be a member of a redress scheme. Michael Parkes Surveyors Ltd are complying with their legal obligation to be a member of a government authorised consumer redress scheme, by being members of PRS. You can click on the logo below for more information about PRS.


A redress scheme allows consumers to escalate a complaint they have against a member of the scheme. The main purpose of the redress scheme is to resolve or settle unresolved complaints from consumers who have suffered a loss as a result of the actions of the member.


It is an alternative to using the Courts and the complainant must have exhausted the members internal complaints procedure before contacting the redress scheme.


Members and consumers both benefit from the PRS simple three stage process to resolve the complaint:


  1. The Member will first be given an opportunity to resolve the complaint directly


  1. The Property Redress Scheme offers a mediation service


  1. The Property Redress Scheme Ombudsman will make a binding decision on the complaint
